Sourced from the Sacred Palo Santo Tree of South America. This product is responsibly grown and sourced sustainably through it's natural falling & resting cycles (the tree dies and falls on its own, usually after 30 years, and is then left to rest for 2-4 years before harvested). We only source our Palo Santo from certified sustainable harvesters who also have a reforestation programme in place to regenerate the Palo Santo trees. 

About Palo Santo
Also known as 'Holy Wood'. Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) is a sacred tree located on the coast of South America. In Spanish, the name translates to "Holy Wood" due to the magical cleansing & healing properties the wood provides. Due to it's aromatic sweet, earthy smell, the wood provides an instant sense of peace and calm in preparation for cleansing rituals, meditation and spiritual connection. 

Ancient Shamanic practices believe that plants have spirits and that these spirits can be called upon and used medicinally. In these rituals, the spirit of the plant is called upon and used for healing. The spirit of Palo Santo in particular carries wisdom and power that enables the smoke of a small piece of wood to heal the user psychically, emotionally and spiritually. As all energy must be, the spirit of Palo Santo needs be respected and so for this reason the tree cannot be cut down, we must wait years after it has naturally fallen/died on it's own to harvest it. 

What can Palo Santo be used for?
Similar to Sage, Palo Santo can be used for smudging rituals where the smoke of the wood is used to clear space of negative energies, used as a tool for inviting positivity & intention setting, enhancing creativity and promoting healing and wellness (physically, emotionally and spiritually). 

How do you use Palo Santo?
Find time in your day to create a peaceful, ceremonial like setting. Set your intentions, speak aloud or internally and manifest what you would like the wood to do for you (bring peace into your life, clear negativity e.t.c). Use a candle or lighter to ignite the end of your Palo Santo Stick. Allow to burn for about 30 seconds and then blow out once a flame arises. The rich, earthy smell will create a sense of peace. Carry the stick around your space going from corner to corner whilst focusing on the intentions you set. Move the stick around your self to cleanse your energy or around objects like crystals to uplift and sustain their vibrations. When finished, place the stick in a fire proof bowl/holder. The glow will dissipate on it's own unless you blow on the ember which will keep the smoke going. Use with caution. Do not leave unattended. Use with an open heart and pay your respects to the earth for providing it's gifts.
